PSYCHEPULSE

“You are never too old to set another Goal or to dream a new Dream.”

Aristotle

Psychepulse is the name of my schema-focused CBT coaching practice that focuses on individual mental healing.

As I imagine, “Psyche-pulse” is a real-time mental wellbeing pulse reader, with which I, as your schema-focused CBT coach, will hold a mirror to you with empathy and help you uncover your roadblocks with insight, empowering you with a sense of cognitive clarity. We loosen up the rough surfaces to reveal and reframe your ingrained patterns, transgenerational wounds, the cause of your learned helplessness, maladaptive behaviours and coping mechanisms.

In the schema-focused coaching process, our goal is to free you from the confinement of the mind and emotions, to allow your thoughts to flow freely, to accept emotions with tenderness and understanding, and to guide them with loving kindness, without fear of the negative spiral they may force you into.

In practice, this means that you will learn to

  • recognize, acknowledge, and validate your needs for attachment, intimacy, independence, self-assertion, liberation, and relaxation
  • identify internal and external obstacles to achieving these goals; to explore their past and present origins; and to remove internal obstacles
  • maintain cognitive distance, which is the ability to distinguish between your own thoughts and reality
  • identify, challenge and reframe your NATs = Negative Automatic Thoughts and cognitive distortions which are irrational, exaggerated, or negative beliefs that can distort your perception of reality
  • perform functional A-B-C analysis, which is a method to understand your behaviour by examining its triggers and its consequences
  • work on building your adaptive behavioural responses, practicing coping mechanisms, monitoring and changing them if necessary.

All of this can be expected to alleviate or eliminate your physical symptoms, while preventing further ones.

During the sessions, I explain all the schema-focused CBT processes to you, and then, with the help of various tools (cognitive diary, list of logical errors (NATs), questionnaires, schema descriptions, cognitive flows), you begin to observe your internal processes. The aim of all this is to break old, ingrained patterns that limit the fulfilment of your desires and to create a new, more realistic and hopefully more joyful image of yourself, others, and the world

My effectiveness beings with the responsibility that you deserve and are given the opportunity to bolster your self-esteem and confidence, reconnect with your specific creativity, and become the planner and successful builder of your own future.

Focusing on your realistic aspirations, I not only help you design achievable goals, but also provide the awareness and development of the tools needed to successfully complete those goals, aligned with your core values. Equally important, we focus on your positive relationships, their benefits, as well as assertive communication and strong self-care.

MindsetMastery – mindfulness and guided imagery meditation, autogenic training:

Guided imagery meditation aligned with mindfulness is a safe, easy and fun way to enjoy the benefits of meditation and connect to a sense of inner peace and empowerment. With guided imagery meditation, you will be inspired to visualize peaceful scenes that you can engage in and practice positive affirmations that will benefit you daily. You will learn how to better control your thoughts, how to channel those thoughts in a positive direction, and how to take an active role in your personal well-being.

Studies indicate that thoughts trigger an immediate physical response in the body. When we relax our minds, our bodies receive the same reassuring message. The regular practice of meditation and positive affirmations can greatly contribute to a sense of security and self-esteem, as well as increase your ability to concentrate, relax, cope with stress, and recognize your personal strengths, develop your creativity, various skills and competencies.

Autogenic training (AT) is a relaxation technique that uses self-suggestion to induce a state of deep relaxation and reduce stress. It involves focusing on specific physical sensations like heaviness, warmth, and slowed breathing to activate the relaxation response in the body. AT can be practiced independently and can be integrated with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for effective results. The benefits of AT are stress reduction, pain management, improved sleep and overall enhanced well-being. Autogenic training can be learned through guided sessions, can be practiced independently with the provided resources. Regular practice is recommended to build the ability to induce relaxation through self-suggestion.
